Okay, as a DJ you have to invest in tango CDs, and Buenos Aires usually offers a good opportunity to do so. One of the CDs I bought last time was ‘Tango 3.0’ by Gotan Project.
Gotan Project was the band that invented Tango 2.0, the modern and new tango for the 21st century. Gotan is a play on words with the Lunfardo word ‘vesre,’ where the syllables are replaced by TanGo.[1]The project is a tribute to the famous 1982 album ‘Tango Project’ [1]. This is the official website of Gotan Project:

The band’s founder was Eduardo Makaroff [2], a musician, songwriter and producer who moved from Buenos Aires to Paris, the ‘second capital of tango music’, to further develop tango music [1]. There he met Christoph H. Müller and Philippe Cohen Solal. Their first album, ‘La Revancha del Tango,’ was released in 2001, followed by another (‘Inspiracion Espiracion’) in 2004 and a third (‘Lunatico’) in 2006. ‘Tango 3.0’ is their latest tango album, released in 2010.
Philippe Cohen Solal plays keyboards and guitar, Eduardo Makaroff guitar, and Christoph H. Müller bass and keyboards. For their productions, they typically invite other musicians, including world-class musicians such as Gustavo Beytelmann (piano), Nini Flores (bandoneon), and Christina Villalonga (vocals).
Interestingly, some of her songs appear in films, such as ‘Shall We Dance’ with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez (‘Santa Maria del Buen Ayre’). Some songs are also used in television commercials.
The main significance of Gotan Project lies in their leading role in the development of modern electro-tango.
